Paper or Plastic, or Both?

As we were writing descriptions for our Minimates and Kubricks, it dawned on us that something was missing in our collectible toy site, history. You see, whether you are purchasing a Super Hero Hellboy Ci-Boy, a Spider-Ham Kubrick or a Punisher Minimate, you also have a piece of Comic Book History in your possession. Rarely do we see descriptions that give credit to Stan Lee for example, for creating the characters of Spider-Man, The X-Men and a multitude of characters in the Marvel Universe. When shopping around for a Batman Minimate, it is unlikely that you will see Bob Kane's name in the write-up and even rarer, writer Bill Finger.

We decided that the best way for us to pay tribute to these artists and writers is to offer the original comics from the 1940s and beyond. Customers of Riapet Exclusives will now be able to collect a Punisher Kubrick in addition to The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (the first appearance of The Punisher). Our goal is to offer comics released prior to 1970. We will stock several comics post 1970 so that a collector who wants the Hellboy Qees can also grab John Byrnes Next Men #21(1993, the first appearance of Hellboy). Unlike our toy inventory, the comics will not be re-stocked, it will be a first come/first served. Comic book collectors are well aware that the preservation of original comic books lies solely in the protection of these masterpieces by their owners. Nuff said ; )
